Great Local Restaurants

Project Goal

Design a website that focussed on users that wanted a quick and easy way to order from their favourite local restaurants

My Role:

Researcher, tester and designer, and assisting other colleagues

Target Audience:

Users that did not have sufficient time to cook food every night, and have a strong preference to eat from local restaurants and have this delivered. This would cover busy workers, as well as families to remove the hassle of making meals. These user groups would be expected to order 3/4 times a week.

Challenges:

Getting constructive feedback from all participants

Research

25 users remotely using quantative and qualatitive data - this was done over 1 weekend

Testing Results

25/30 users enjoyed the strong images on the home page and the ability to select favourite restaurants for future quicker ordering. 17/30 users found the food ordering page overwhelming with too much choice.

Learnings

The designs had to be changed radically for menu page as could see the negative user experience impact it was having.

The next steps is to pass this to development team to create a fully functioning website, and in the meantime continue testing and get feedback.
